Work with the Zoning Board and commissioners to ensure that "weLl understood" land use regulations exist which will promote business and residential development within our county. 4. Increase inter-community cooperation and communication. The retreat was facilitated by Susan Neupoth-Cadoret, Field Representative for the Depart- ment of Community and Housing's Businegs Development Group. She was joined by members of several of the county's communities. Members of the Economic Development Committee who were in attendance were Linda Craghead, Coordinator; Diane Turnbull, Eskridge; Richard Thompson, Harveyvflle; Cheryl Blackwell, Eskridge; Claude Blevins, Paxico; Don Frank, Alma; Ron Schult.z, Alma; and Bud Hund, Paxico. Additional participants included State Rep. Vern Osborne; USD 329 Superintendent, Randy Rivers; Larry Holz, Stockgrower's State Bank; and Harveyvflle City Council members Russell Freel and Henry Dreier. The next meeting of the committee will be held at noon on Thursday, November 21, at the Pizza Parlor in downtown Eskridge. Members of the county are welcome to attend. WABAUNSEE COUNTY OFFICIALS ATTEND KAC CONFERENCE (conUnued from page one) At the Monday afternoon business session, delegates adopted the Kansas Association of Counties' 2003 Legislative Policy Statement. Each year this informative and educational conference provides county officials an opportu- nity to meet and discuss issues affecting county government with colleagues from across the state. The Kansas Association of Counties provides legislative and educational services to its I05 member counties. The Association office is located in Topeka. Officials representing Wabaunsee County were: County Clerk Jennifer Savage, County Regis- ter of Deeds Suzanne Simon, County Attorney Jack Turner, County Appraiser Bobby Miller, Wa- baunsee ~ounty Zoning Administrator Claude Blevins, County Commissioner Maurice Gleason, and Commissioner-Elect Ervan Stuewe.
