A week ago Sunday, Bertha Brunswick, Topeka, went with John and Helen Schroeder to the Mission Festival at Wells Creek. Laura Theel visited with Mildred Degenhardt Friday afternoon. Charles and Shirley De- genhardt and Denise, Manhat- tan, brought the dinner Sun- day noon and ate with Mil- dred Degenhardt. In the after- noon they went to the 90th birthday open house reception for Mildred's sister, Verena Seberg, which was held at the K of C Hall in Newbury. This was a very cold Hal- loween this year so probably that's why there weren't as many trick or treaters out this year. Tyler "Crystal Ringel, daughter of Kevin and Tommi Ringel, Gardner, Kansas, was baptized Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma. "I~jler's sponsors were Richard and Sonya Lutze and Karen Wright and her witnesses were David Wright and Marcus and Angle Farr. After the baptism, a dinner was held at the home of Tyler's grandparents, Gary and Trish Ringel. Others at- tending to help Tyler celebrate her baptism were Pastor Robert and Gayle Grimm, Erik, Elisabeth and Aaron, Grandma Chris and Grandpa Tom Farr, Great-grandma Frieda Brown, Great-grandma Roberta Berroth, Irene Thoes, Doris and Ed Park, Lavon Smith, Dick Flohr, Kristi Smith. Jamie Hageman, Dorothy and Gary Kemble, Barbara Frank, Don, Becky, John and Matthew Frank, R.D. and Alexia Lutze, and Er- tan and Pam Stuewe. Later in the afternoon, Bill and Judy Havenstein stopped by. David Litke and Lori Heinemann at- tended the baptism but were unable to attend the dinner. Kyle Savage celebrated his 3rd birthday on Sunday, November 3rd. Helping him celebrate were Nicole and Shelby Savage, Elton and Linda Maas, John and Ray- onna Savage, Frank, Krisena and Alexis Silva, Paul, Terri and Kaytlln Savage, Dave, Jennifer and Jordyn Savage, Tim, Traci and Kody Songs, all of Alma. Jessie Walls, Vol- land, Arnold and Bernice Kle- infeldt, Olathe, Ted and Lucy Baehni, Topeka, and Doris Convey of South Dakota. (Daddy Mike was unable to attend due to illness). Jack and Pat Austin, Man- hattan, Eric and Stephanie Theel and Thomas, Paxico, Phillip and Barbara Theel and Ryan visited with Doryl and Virginia Snodgrass on Hal- loween night. After watching the trick or treaters, they had cake and ice cream for Ryan's 2 Ist birthday. Stephanie Evans was six years old Sunday so her par- ents, Jason and Nikki Evans, and sister, Kylie, had a birth- day party for her. Those at- tending were her grandpar- ents. Ken and Wendy Zeller, Paxico, Laura Winters, Topeka, and Earle and Connie Evans; Ed and Kim Moege, April and Jacob, Topeka; Christy Bayless, Topeka; Josh Lira, Eloise Grunewald, and Pam Evans. After she opened her gift~, they all enjoyed cake and ice ream. Kasey Theel, Deb Theel, and Dorothy Litke were guests of honor to celebrate their birth- days Sunday at the home of Bob and Judy Sommer. Other guests were Harvey and Joyce Heideman, Alta Vista, Laura Theel, Don Dieball, Donna Reuter, Jean Litke, Cathy Decker, and Kenn and Nancy Sommer, Kyle and Kelsey. I got two new roosters and my old one kept trying to fight them but they didn't fight back. They Just hid in a cor- ner, so I put the old one in a cage for three days. And now, since lhre let him out, he's been leaving them alone, If he didn't, it weuld be the soup pot for him. Oh yeah, now I rememberl Sure is nice to see the sun back out even if just for a short time. Was pretty dreary the last couple of weeks. Laurel and Kyle Riggin were Monday visitors at Dick and Reta Riggin's home. Gene and AIeta Burgess came in to play pitch on Monday night. Kevin and Laurel were visiting there on Tuesday night. Bob brought Kyle in Wednesday to spend the night with the grandparents. On Thursday Dick and Reta went to visit Kevin and his folks to check on Kevin's recent hand sur- gery. Looks like he'Ll be in the cast for about 3 months or so. Reta spent Friday keeping an eye on Kevin while he got over all the surgery side effects. Kevin then spent all day Sat- urday at Dick and Reta's. On Sunday afternoon, Brandon and Samantha Erickson stopped in for a visit and their folks picked them up later. Also, Sherri Johnston was a Sunday evening visitor. Thursday at noon there will be a community potluck din- ner at the Methodist Church sponsored by the UMW.
