You did a marvelous job and
the handouts were great!
Thanks, also, to Ray Simon,

Many have said it was enjoy-

The artifacts given this
month were Charles Geisler's
portable typewriter, donated
by Laura Theel; a set of 20
volumes of Rush Encyclope-
dias and a set of eight Sears
yearbooks, brought to us by
Bonnie Rush Shepherd. Also
Carole Schooler brought us a
Record and Prospectus Book
and report card from the Alma
Schools. We appreciate all
these things!
We want to thank those
who remembered the museum
by their memorials for Irene
Bandel and Darrell Tumbull.
They will be greatly missed!
Thanks, too, for the donation
to the museum by Hallmark
Cards for the volunteer work
of Doug Heigert.
With Christmas coming up,
I hope you will consider giving
a copy of our new history book
*Stories of the Past'. It would
make a great gift for parents or
grandparents from all their
children or grandchildren.
Enjoy the beautiful fall col-
ors of the trees and flowers
and come visit the museum.
Stay well and safel

Happy Valley
4-H Club
During the Middle Ages, bath houses in England were called stews
and bathing was referred to as stewing.
October 14th
The Happy Valley 4-H Club
meeting was spooky as we
came dressed up in our Hal-
loween costumes. Our monthly
business meeting was Octobei
14th at the Community Center
in Alma.
The meeting was called to
order by our new President.
Luke Morrill. Roll call was
¢hat are you going to be for
Halloween?' We had 18 mem-
bers present and three visi-
tors.
Wayne Thowe, Community
Leader. installed the new offi-
cers for the coming year. They
are as follows: Luke Morrill,
President; Vice President,
Chad Heine; Secretary, Jessica
Savage; Treasurer. Kelsey
TenEyck; Reporter. Pamela
Morrill; 4-H Council Repre-
sentatives. Kelsey Sommer
and Chris Eberwein; Histori-
ans, John Henderson and
Cody Schneider; Parliamen-
tarians, Chris Eberwein and
Chris Kartman; Song Leader,
Mark Anderson; and Recre-
ation, John TenEyck.
A reminder that our club
will be hosting the 4-H
Achievement Banquet on
November 13th with the sup-
per beginning at 6:30 pm. All
those who would like to help
set up will begin at 4:00 pm
and we will also need volun-
teers to help with clean tlp
following the award presenta-
tion.
For program, John Hender-
son gave a talk on "How to
force bloom bulbs". Pamela
Morrill gave a talk on "What
and how to make an outfit".
Luke Morrill began his talk by
asking questions on "What is
Geology?" and also passed out
treats to all that could help
answer his questions.
Our Parliamentarians were
Chris Kartman and Jessica
Savage. They told about how
to properly make a motion.
Then each club member re-
ceived a slip with an activity
that we had to turn into a mo-
tion and say it aloud to the
President. This was good prac-
tice for all of us.
Mark Anderson led us in
singing 'Happy Birthday' to all
the October birthdays and
then we sang ~I'he Itsy Bitsy
Spider' with the actions.
Our visitors for the meeting
were Austin and Colton Feyh
and Paul Hauer.
The next 4-H meeting will
be November 1 lth. Those who
are interested in 4-H are en-
couraged to attend the new
member orientation meeting
at 6:30 pm. We will have pro-
ject meetings for clothing,
plant science and leadership
at 6:30 pm. Our regular busi-
ness meeting will begin at 7:00
pm. Those who are to give
talks are Christa Thowe, Chad
Heine. Mark Anderson, and
Tyson Miller.
The meeting was adjourned.
Reporter,
Pamela Morrill
There is a sense of ex-
hilaration that comes
from facing head-on
the hard truths and
saying, "We will never
give up. We will never
capitulate. It might
take a long time, but
we will find away to
prevail."
