EVANS ANNOUNCES
CANDIDACY
FOR COUNTY
COMMISSIONER
I'd like to take a few min-
utes to introduce myself as a
candidate for Wabaunsee
County Commission, District
1. My name is Jason Evans.
I've been a lifelong resident of
Wabaunsee County in Alma. I
am a graduate of Wabaunsee
High School and have fur-
thered my education at Man-
hattan Vo-Tech in Construc-
tion and Carpentry. After
graduating from Vo-Tech and
working in Manhattan, I ac-
cepted a job from Hendricks
Hardware in Alma and am
currently still employed with
them. During this time, I met
and married Nikki Zeller and
we made our home in Alma.
We extended our family by
having two wonderful little
girls, Stephanie, age 5, and
Kylie, age 21 months. As I
said before, I am a lifelong
resident and plan on continu-
ing to live in Alma. Therefore,
I have a great interest and
compassion for our communi-
ties. I feel that I have new
ideas and a fresh outlook at
the issues we face together. I
believe that there are two sides
to every situation, and that the
decisions that are made need
to come from information re-
ceived by both parties and not
based on emotion or before all
information is gathered.
Thank you for your time.
The Alma High School graduating classes of
1938 and 1939 met at Palenske Hall on May 26,
2002. A delicious dinner, of your choice, was
catered by T.D.'s Restaurant and served at noon.
Much reminiscing and visiting was the agenda
for the afternoon. Rayonna Mock was kind
enough to show the museum to anyone inter-
ested in a tour. Those present from the Class of
1938, pictured left to right, were Edna (Laging)
Palenske, Eldon Gladow, Mary Jane (Wertzberger)
Clark, Junior Hess, Esther (Herbic) Robertson,
Don Stuewe, Margery (HJnshaw) Walton and Or-
ville Zimmerman.
Fresh Air Tip
Sprinkle cinnamon on
aluminum foil and place it
in a hot oven, leaving the
door open. As the cinna-
mon heats, the aroma will
permeate the house.
