As a State Officer, Jenni received leadership training at a Career and Technical Stu- dent Organization Training (CTSO) which was held in McPherson, Kansas June 2-4, 2002. CTSO's are a basic component of career and tech- nical education programs that support and enhance related school-based and work-based learning. CTSO's provide stu- dents with skills and knowl- edge to succeed in the new global economy. The CTSO Training facilitator was Rhett Laubach, a full-time profes- sional speaker and author. Jenni will be attending the National FCCLA Meeting at Minneapolis, Minnesota in July. She will also participate in Fall Leadership Academies, District Meetings, and plan and present the FCCLA State Leadership Showcase held at Century II in Wichita April 1, 2003. ¢¢ ¢r *¢r ~* ¢¢ HARVEYVILLE 4-H CLUB June 2, 2002 Meeting The monthly meeting of the Harveyville 4-H Club was Sunday, June 2, 2002. Before the meeting we all met at the park in Harveyville at 1 p.m. and went on our annual tour. Those who participated on our tour were: Frankie Smallwood, who showed his steer, horse and pigs and damie Singleton, who showed her ceramics and photography. She'd taken pictures on her vacations and is trying to pick out the win- ning photo. Next we went to Katie and Wesley Davis'. Katie showed us her steer and mar- ket lambs and Wes showed us his pigs. Then on to Jeanna • Willey, she showed her ce- ramics, her chess set she had made in art, steer and dairy goats. Next was Ashley and Abby Sage. They had steers and marker lambs. On to Avery Land's. She showed~us her steer, heifer, garden and wildlife project. Kristina Kesler ended the tour by showing us her ceramics. We then called our meeting to order. Roll call was what year you graduate from high school. Our community serv- ice project was to donate two canned goods to the Har- veyville Food Pantry. Theresa Foster was our guest and she gave a demonstration on how to fill out the KAA's. Nancy Land announced it is time to collect for our Livestock Fund. The meeting was adjourned. We stayed for hot dogs on the grill and everyone brought a covered dish.A good time was had by all. EMPORIA STATE UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES SPRING HONOR ROLL Students earned academic honors during the 2002 spring semester at Emporia State University. In all, 402 under- graduate students were named to the University Honor Roll for the spring semester.
